Keeping with the spirit of the holidays, PSEG Associates volunteered at the Lighthouse Point Park for the Fantasy of Lights on December 22nd. The Fantasy of Lights is an annual animated holiday light show consisting of over 60 different displays. The display runs from November 17th until December 31st. All proceeds of the Fantasy of Lights support Goodwill programs of Southern New England to help people with disabilities and many other challenges to become more self-sufficient.  Goodwill of Southern New England is a community based organization committed to develop employment, educational, social and recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and other challenges in the greater New Haven area. At PSEG we believe in giving back to our community in any way we can. We are proud to once again be the Title Sponsor for this amazing event.

As giving season continues, PSEG’s BHS 5 Project held a toy drive for a local South End charity. Workers from PSEG Power CT along with our contractors, Ferreria Construction, Shelby Mechanical, Matrix Services, AKRF and SNC-Lavalin, gathered at Marina Village, a housing community in Bridgeport. Over 200 toys were given to local residents in an effort to spread the holiday spirit. At PSEG we strive to be active members of the communities we serve. PSEG is proud to be partnered with companies who support our efforts to give back to those in need.

PSEG proudly sponsors After School at the Klein (ASK), an afterschool performing arts program serving the Greater Bridgeport Area. ASK provides tuition-free instruction in music, dance, and drama to students in grades 7 through 12. As the only tuition free afterschool arts program in Bridgeport, over 120 students attend classes three days each week. Students have access to top-notch instructors comprised of Broadway and other performing artists who share their expertise. PSEG strives to give back to the community and its residents. We are proud to support After School at the Klein.

December 14, 2017- PSEG participated in the 10th Annual Award Ceremony for Connecticut’s Black Chamber of Commerce. It is always an honor to work closely with such an amazing organization and to celebrate the end of the year while looking forward to the future in Bridgeport. We at Bridgeport Harbor Station would like to specially thank Diana Washington and Deborah Caviness for their advocacy, tireless work and friendship on behalf of their members. The Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce is a business organization committed to ensuring the economic growth and sustainability of minority-owned companies. The organization has been operating out of Bridgeport CT for over five years. Bridgeport is home to many successful minority owned and operated businesses. PSEG supports the Southern Connecticut Black Chamber of Commerce and its efforts to aid the Bridgeport community.

On November 29, 2017, representatives from PSEG Power CT attended the McGivney Community Center’s first celebrity breakfast. Over 350 people, including special guest and former New York Yankee David Cone, gathered at Vazzano’s Four Winds Restaurant in Stratford, CT to support the McGivney Community Center’s mission to support Bridgeport’s youth. All of the proceeds from the celebrity breakfast go towards funding the McGivney Community Center’s youth programs. The McGivney Community Center, located on the East Side of Bridgeport, serves as a safe haven for many local young residents. The McGivney Community Center helps member thrive through their after-school and evening programs. The center’s mission is to provide a stimulating and enriching programs that foster academic success and self-esteem. PSEG believes every child should have a safe place where they can learn and grow. With the holiday season in full swing, PSEG is embracing the Christmas spirit with open arms by supporting the Bridgeport PAL’s 67th Annual Christmas Village! The Christmas Village is a winter wonderland where families can visit Santa, view festive displays and do some shopping at the gift shop all while making great memories. All infants and children to age 11 receive a gift from Santa during their visit. All Proceeds from the Christmas Village will support Bridgeport PAL’s youth programs.
