Bridgeport Heads up for Safety

Bridgeport Heads up for Safety

PSEG believes that safety is a way of life both on and off the job. On Tuesday, May 15th PSEG sponsored and attended the kickoff event for “Heads Up For Safety”, a new safety initiative coming to the city of Bridgeport. As a Founding Community Partner, PSEG will be contributing helmets to “Heads Up For Safety” to ensure that 1,000 free helmets are distributed to Bridgeport youth.

Bike helmets would be distributed by Bridgeport Police Department(BPD) Bike Safety Rodeos at city schools and on the streets by BPD officers who would “ticket” kids not wearing a helmet with a coupon for a free helmet. Kids who are spotted wearing a helmet will be rewarded with a ticket voucher to a Bridgeport Sound Tigers games. The goal of “Heads Up For Safety” is to reduce youth head injuries, distribute free helmets to Connecticut youth (starting with the city of Bridgeport) and to educate kids on street and bike safety. “Heads Up For Safety” is founded by Trantolo & Trantolo, a Connecticut-based personal injury law firm with offices throughout the state including the city of Bridgeport. In partnership Kids Connecticut, the Bridgeport Police Department and support from Mayor Ganim and local businesses Trantolo &Trantolo was able to bring this safety program to life.

PSEG is fully committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the communities we serve.
