PSEG Sponsors MCC Awards Dinner
Supporting the local community is an effort that PSEG Power CT prides itself on. On Tuesday, May 8th PSEG sponsored the Minority Construction Council (MCC) Partnership Awards Dinner to honor the MCC’s partners and the MCC Scholarship Award recipient. As a company that is actively trying to serve the community, PSEG relies on a variety of suppliers and contractors to provide products and services to facilitate our operations. We routinely source material and services from suppliers through PSEG. PSEG and the MCC are currently working cohesively to find perspective contractors and suppliers to fit the scope of needs at the Unit 5 Project.
Founded in 2002, the MCC is Hartford based group of small minority contractors that aim to provide support and resources to assist in the growth of the firms. As a non-profit organization with over 160 members throughout Connecticut, the MCC’s mission is to advocate, support, and create development opportunities for minority contractors throughout the State of Connecticut while also supporting corporate members in their efforts to source with minority construction contractors. Simon Mainwaring of the MCC describes why these partnerships are so essential; “Creating a better world requires teamwork, partnerships, and collaboration, as we need an entire army of companies to work together to build a better world within the next few decades. This means corporations must embrace the benefits of cooperating with one another.”
PSEG is committed to the communities we serve. For more information and how to become one of our suppliers visit our Procurement page.
