PSEG Supports the 2019 MCC Awards
On Wednesday, May 15th PSEG sponsored the Minority Construction Council (MCC) Partnership Awards Dinner to honor the MCC’s partners and the MCC Scholarship Award recipient. PSEG believes supporting small and minority-owned businesses is essential to our business operations and to sustaining a strong community. PSEG has committed to using regional and minority-, women-, service-disabled, and veteran-owned businesses (MWVBE) contractors. As part of PSEG’s Harbor Station Unit #5 Project, the Project has committed over $147 million with MWVBE contractors and suppliers, representing 42 percent of the available spend.
Founded in 2002, the MCC is a Connecticut based group of small minority contractors that aim to provide support and resources to assist in the growth of the firms. As a non-profit organization with over 160 members, the MCC’s mission is to advocate, support, and create development opportunities for minority contractors throughout the State of Connecticut while also supporting corporate members in their efforts to source with minority construction contractors.
